Venmo Hiring Staff Software Engineer in Scottsdale, Arizona @ venmo.com – Venmo is the fastest-growing peer-to-peer banking network, and it continues to innovate in the tech world. We are seeking for a skilled Staff Software Engineer – Machine Learning to join our Venmo Product Intelligence (a.k.a. Applied Science) team and help us create our next generation of data products and high-velocity AI services. In order to improve our customers’ everyday experience, we draw useful insights from our large, rich, and continuously expanding databases. This position is essential to the engineering team and will be firmly integrated inside the company’s multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications – Eligibility Criteria
5+ years of experience developing machine learning applications in the industry. Experience with large-scale machine learning infrastructure for online recommendation, ad ranking, customization, search, natural language processing, and other applications. Spark, EMR, and Kafka are examples of Big Data and distributed technologies.
Object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm designs, run-time analysis, and code quality verification are all skills you’ll need. At least one current programming language, such as Python (recommended), Scala, Java, or Go, is required. It is preferred if you have AWS operating expertise.
Responsibilities
Machine learning, data mining, information retrieval, statistics, or natural language processing skills is preferred. FinTech is a domain where I have a lot of passion and intellectual curiosity. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to conduct frequent meetings with cross-functional team leads.
